Glass Cockpit Aviation was founded by Cammie Patch in 2005. It has grown to include five aircraft, two simulators, and ten flight instructors. Our2014 Stats:35 New Ratings7 First solos94% pass rate focus however, is not growth. Our goal is to be efficient and effective, and to accomplish your training goals. We achieve this goal by doing things a little different from most schools.
First of all, we don't have a lot of overhead. There is no superfluous employees driving up the cost of your training. We are a family-owned business and we all work where needed. The downside of this is that you may have to leave a message when you call us with questions or to schedule your training, and there may not be anyone in the office if you stop by to check us out.
What our customers say about us.
Second, we select only the best instructors in the business. Often this means a high-time CFI with lots of instructional experience, but we have also found that many lower-time CFIs are such good teachers (and are highly motivated) that they achieve impressive results also. One of our instructors was awarded "Outstanding Flight Instructor" by AOPA, one of only ten in the USA. We thrive on your success, and you will find that at Glass Cockpit, a successful check ride is an exciting event for all of us because the result is our motivation. We are not concerned with image, epaulets, or growth, only your success. This is why we celebrate check rides and first solos on our Facebook page, each name has a story, and each story means a lot to us. You will come here as a customer, but leave as a good friend. Be prepared to learn a lot, and enjoy your time here.
Part 61 vs. 141:What Part 141 schools won't tell you.
We won the AOPA Flight Training Excellence Award in 2013, 2014, and 2016. This particular award means a lot to us because it is a direct result of our customer's feedback to AOPA regarding the job we are doing.
We do these things. We do them by working hard to make the safest pilots. We may not wear fancy uniforms or have any particular dress code, but we have the best safety record in Boise. That safety record means low insurance premiums, and those low premiums means a fair price to our customers for the newest fleet of aircraft in the state.
Many customers say that they called us because of our good reputation around the Boise Airport, and even around the world. That is one of the highest compliments that we could get, and we work hard to keep it that way. We believe in treating people right, even if it means making a sacrifice in the short term.
If you are a flight instructor and your personality fits our school environment, please email us your resume. We are always looking for the best of the best: successful CFIs that like to have fun, love people, and are motivated by the success of their customers.
